This book continues the story of two Shadowhunters (half-angel, half-human warriors who hunt demons), Emma and Julian, who have fallen in love with each other, except the romance is forbidden as it’s between two parabatai (two Shadowhunters who bind themselves together to be life-long partners, unromantically). What else can I say except Mrs Clare you’ve done it again! Fantasy, action, romance, mystery, all wrapped into one, once again. “Sometimes the most ruthless heart speaks the most truth” Julian Blackthorn Anyways onto the book review, I’ll try not to spoil anything in case you want to read the series… Lockdown’s been really tough and this has helped me feel in more of a routine and has also added something to look forward to in my day (as sad as it may sound, it’s the truth). Every night, no matter what time, (or time of the morning), it is I always aspire to fit a chapter in before I fall asleep and it’s really made my days better. Lord of the Shadows by Cassandra Clare… where do I begin! This book took me a long time to finish, not because it was bad because it wasn’t, I swear Cassandra Clare can never write a bad book! It took me a long time to finish because once I started Uni I could never find/make the time to read, but finally I’ve found a way to continue with my passion.
